PEG - 4000 and PEG – 6000 is a high molecular weight polymer of ethylene oxide and is a blend of polymers with different degrees of polymerization. Like all other PEGs, PEG – 4000 & PEG - 6000 is readily soluble in water. So water can be the most economical solvent for this, apart from other organic solvents.
